Muhaimin Claims To Be Happy With Budget Efficiency, Guarantees Not To Lower Ministry Performance

Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar spoke with MSME owners at the 2025 Inacraft 2025/ANTARA HO international handicraft exhibition.

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar said the budget efficiency policy in ministries/agencies should not reduce the performance of ministries/agencies.

"In my ministry, of our Rp130 billion budget, Rp65 billion was cut but we are happy with this cut, then we will work hard, so that the work is not based on budget alone, but based on innovation," said Muhaimin, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, February 7.

According to him, the budget efficiency policy did not have a significant impact on the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment.

"In us, no one is affected, the salary is fixed, all (budgets at the Coordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment) are the majority for salaries. Yes, it may reduce official travel, and the number of those who take official trips," he said.

His party welcomed the existence of the budget efficiency policy.

"I personally am very happy with all these forms of efficiency. This is indeed an old dream, yes, this country must be efficient," he said.

Presiden Prabowo Subianto telah resmi mengeluarkan Instruksi Presiden (Inpres) 1/2025 yang meminta anggaran pemerintah pada APBN dan APBD TA 2025 dipaks sebesar Rp306,69 triliun.

The ministry/institutional budget is requested for efficiency of IDR 256.1 trillion and transfers to the regions (TKD) of IDR 50.59 trillion.
