Revenge For Being Fired, Employees In Bali Kidnap The Son Of The Cosmetic Boss Asking For A Ransom Of IDR 100 Million

The perpetrator of kidnapping a child in Denpasar, Bali named I Wayan Sudirta (29) asked for a ransom of Rp. 100 million from the victim's parents, after kidnapping the victim, who is a child with the initials IMRAK.

"He (the victim) was brought together and the perpetrator asked for a ransom of Rp. 100 million. The ransom had not been sent, the account number had been sent," said South Denpasar Police Chief Kompol Herson Djuanda, Thursday, February 6.

In addition to asking for the ransom, the perpetrator asked the victim's father, Komang Sudiarta, not to report the incident to the police so that his son was safe.

If the ransom is not transferred and the parents report it to the police, the perpetrator threatens to suffer the consequences, and the perpetrator will also look for the victim's brother.

The victim's father also reported the incident to the police and the perpetrator was arrested.

The victim's parents who attended the press conference confirmed the extortion attempt carried out by the perpetrator.

Initially, the perpetrator asked for a ransom of Rp. 100 million, then it fell to Rp. 80 million, and finally it was offered up to Rp. 10 million.

When negotiations took place, members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Denpasar Police tracked down the whereabouts of the perpetrator's cell phone and managed to find the location of the perpetrator.

The kidnapping case began when Komang Sudiarta ordered an employee to pick up IMRAK when he came home from school on Wednesday (5/2) at around 13.30 WITA.

However, Komang Sudiarta's employee did not find the boy he wanted to pick up at school.

Based on the school's narrative, the 10-year-old boy has been picked up by someone who uses a motorcycle.

Therefore, he reported the incident to the parents of the victim.

Shortly thereafter, Komang Sudiarta's wife received a call from someone who claimed to have kidnapped the boy at school and asked for a ransom of Rp. 100 million. The perpetrator threatened to injure the victim's child if the family reported it to the police.

However, Komang Sudiarta decided to report the case to the police. Not long after, several South Denpasar Police personnel came to Komang Sudiarta's place to start an investigation.

From the CCTV footage, it can be seen that someone has picked up the victim using a motorbike.

Based on the results of the investigation, the perpetrators were in the vicinity of PT Indonesia Power, Denpasar City.

The undercover police immediately arrested the perpetrator and taken him to the South Denpasar Police Headquarters for further investigation.

The perpetrator Wayan Sudirta was named a suspect and detained at the South Denpasar Police Rutan.

The police charged the perpetrator with Article 83 Juncto Article 76 Number 23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection or Article 32 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) with a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
