Viral Insulting Honorary Workers, Employees Of PT Timah Officially Fired

JAKARTA PT Timah (Persero) Tbk (TINS) officially cut off employment with Dwi Citra Weni, an employee who went viral on social media after insulting honorary workers who used BPJS Kesehatan in their uploads on TikTok.

The BUMN company based in Bangka Belitung confirmed that the dismissal decision was taken after an examination of ethical violations committed by Dwi Citra Weni.

Dwi Citra Weni, also known as Wenny Myzon, received widespread criticism from the public after the video on his TikTok account spread. In the upload, he demeans honorary staff who use BPJS Kesehatan, sparking anger from netizens.

PT Timah immediately responded by conducting an internal evaluation. PT Timah's Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the results of the examination had resulted in a decision to dismiss the person concerned.

"The company has investigated the person concerned regarding violations of company regulations. After going through the evaluation process, PT Timah Tbk has imposed sanctions for termination of employment," said Anggi in his statement, Thursday, February 6.

PT Timah also appealed to all its employees to be more careful in using social media and not to associate personal activities with the company name.

"We regret the noise that occurred as a result of this action. As a company that upholds ethical, harmonious, and mutual respect values, we hope that this incident will be a lesson for all employees," Anggi added.

Dwi Citra Weni is known to have served as Senior Analyst of the Environment (SA) at PT Timah, with the task of handling environmental issues in the company. This dismissal decision is proof of PT Timah's commitment to upholding discipline and work ethics in the company environment.
