9 Russian Citizens In The Group Of Ukrainian Caucasian Robbers Still In Bali

DENPASAR - Bali Regional Police (Polda) stated that nine foreign nationals suspected of being the perpetrators of the robbery and kidnapping of a Caucasian from Ukraine Igor Lermakov were suspected to be still in the Bali area.

"It looks like we are still. We can't be sure, we could miss leaving before yesterday coordination. But most of them seem to be still in Bali," said Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Ariasandy, Wednesday, February 5.

Police are still trying to get the perpetrators suspected of being involved in the crime to be contacted through their respective consulates. It is suspected that the perpetrators came from Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.

To find the whereabouts of nine perpetrators, the Bali Police have coordinated with the Police International Relations Division, Interpol, and Immigration.

However, the police have not included nine people suspected of being identified by the victim in the final list before evidence of their involvement.

"Not yet, deconstruction. If it is proven, then we will Block it. Only this is coordinative in nature, meaning informing us that these people were detected at the airport," said the former Head of Public Relations of the East Nusa Tenggara Police.

Ariasandy said the initial information regarding the nine perpetrators still came from the victim's report as outlined in the police report. To the police, the victim admitted that he knew the voices of the perpetrators.

"That's what he said, he recognized his voice, maybe he suspected the people. That's why the names were mentioned one by one, even though he didn't see them directly because they were masked," he said.

The robbery incident experienced by Igor Lermakov is known to have occurred on December 15, 2024. At that time the victim and the driver with the initials A drove a white BMW car.

On the way around Jalan Tundun Turtle Dipal, Ungasan Village, South Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali, suddenly their car was blocked by two cars, with one car blocking the road from the front and another car from the back.

Then, from the front car out four people dressed in black wearing a face covering or mask and carrying a knife, hammer and gun. They then took the victim and the driver to get into one of the cars in handcuffs and head covered with a black head covering.

Furthermore, the perpetrators took the victim and the driver to a villa in the South Kuta area, Badung Regency. When they arrived at the villa, the perpetrators forcibly took the victim's cellphone.

They then hit the victim to be willing to transfer cryptocurrency assets to two accounts that allegedly belonged to the perpetrator.

Then the perpetrator continued to beat and forced the complainant (victim) to provide a reporting account to be forcibly taken by the complainant's crypto asset.

As a result of this incident, the victim suffered injuries to his right ear, right and left wrists, bruises on his hands and left eyes, bruises on his back and right waist.

In addition, the victim also suffered material losses of around Rp3.49 billion.
