Apart from being submerged, he continued, there were also seven houses in Tuakau Village that suffered moderate damage and 23 houses suffered severe damage in Naitae Village.
In Naitae Village, 23 houses that were reported to have been heavily damaged were razed to the ground, because they were dragged by the flood that occurred when the Siumate River overflowed.
Apart from residents' houses, there are also damaged infrastructure facilities. For example, five bridge units, which broke completely so that they could not be passed. One of them is the Termanu bridge in Amfoang District which collapsed and broke.
The bridge was cut, causing transportation access to three sub-districts in the area to be cut off.
In addition, five roads were also heavily damaged due to flooding when they were hit by floods in West Fatuleu, Central Kupang, North Amfoang District, and Southwest Amfoang Districts.
"Then there are three public facilities such as West Fatuleu State Junior High School, Oefitis Market, and State Junior High School I Amfoang Utara," he said.
Previously, on January 30-31, 2025, heavy rain accompanied by strong winds hit Kupang Regency and its surroundings. The high intensity rain caused rivers and rivers in the Kupang Regency area to overflow, causing it to hit six sub-districts in the area.
