Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to make a visit to the United States on Sunday 2 February to meet with President Donald Trump.

According to an official statement from Netanyahu's office, he will be the first national leader to meet Trump after his inauguration as US President.

"Both will discuss the situation in Gaza, the issue of hostages, steps to deal with the Iranian axis, and various other major issues," said a statement quoted by ANTARA.

Previously, the White House had invited Netanyahu to meet Trump on February 4.

This visit is Netanyahu's first overseas trip since the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against him in November 2024 on suspicion of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
