Pekalongan Land Land Land Death Increases To 24 People

PEKALONGAN - Entering the fifth day of the landslide incident in Petungkriono District, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java, the number of victims who died was found to have increased to 24 people, on Friday (24/1).

Commander of SRU 1 Team Lanal Tegal Lettu Marines Anjar in Pekalongan, said that the search for landslide victims involved a joint disaster response team and soldiers Lanal Tegal.

"We will not stop until we ensure that all victims are found and the affected people receive maximum assistance," he said as quoted by ANTARA.

One of the victims is known to be the son of the local village secretary, who was found about 300 meters from his house while another body was allegedly still buried by a landslide.

In addition to searching for victims, the joint team also monitored landslide-prone points to anticipate further disasters.

"Intensive coordination is carried out with BPBD to update the risk map for affected areas," he said.

In addition, the health team also provides medical services and psychological support to the community, especially to the families of the victims.

He said that although difficult terrain conditions were still a major challenge to stay focused on saving victims who had not been found and recovering disaster-affected areas.
