Malut Police Check Sherly Tjoanda About The Speedboat Fire That Killed Her Husband

North Maluku Police conducted an investigation into the Speedboat Bela 72 case, which caught fire at Bobong Regional Port, Taliabu Island Regency on October 12, 2024, by examining Cagub Malut, Sherly Tjoanda.

"The Speedboat Fire in Bela 72 is currently still in the process of being investigated and we have examined Cabug Sherly as a victim around last Sunday in Jakarta," said Director of Criminal Investigation at the North Maluku Police, Kombes Edy Wahyu Susilo, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, January 20.

He said the examination of Sherly was to complete the information on the investigation process and investigators had examined the witness that the Governor of North Maluku, elected Sherly Tjoanda, was the wife of the late Benny Laos.

According to Edy, for further developments, it remains only to wait for the results of the case title to determine the party responsible for the incident that claimed 6 lives.

"So the further developments are still waiting for the results of the case title, to determine whether there are suspects, who are the suspects, where is the process," he said.

The speedboat Bella 72 fire occurred on October 12, 2024 at Bobong Harbor, Taliabu Island Regency, causing the victim to die, namely Benny Laos (Candidate for Governor of North Maluku), Ester Tantry (Member of the North Maluku Provincial DPRD).

Members of the National Police guarding the candidate for the Regent of the Sula Islands, Bripka Hamdani Boamonabot, Mubin A. Wahid who is also the Chair of the North Maluku Province PPP Party, the Civil Servant of the Sula Nasrun Islands Regency Government, and Mahsudin Ode Muisi.
