Fishermen Once Asked For Permission To Revoke The Tangerang Sea Fence, But Were Threatened By Village Apparatus

TANGERANG - Before the Tangerang sea fence was dismantled by the Indonesian Navy (AL), the fishermen admitted that they had complained to the village officials. But the results were in vain. In fact, instead of getting a solution, the fishermen were threatened.

One of them is a fisherman in Tanjung Pasir, Maun (56) admitted that he received intimidation from a number of officers, even though he only intended to ask for permission to revoke the Tangerang sea fence.

"Yesterday I didn't dare. In the past, the intimidation was really asked. 'You love your wife and child?', said Maun when confirmed, Monday, January 20.

Not only that, Maun was also threatened with being reported by the police, if the Tangerang sea fence bamboo was dismantled.

"If one bamboo falls, how many months will there be a penalty. That's why we don't dare," he said.

The same thing was said by the fishermen of Tanah Pulau, Kronjo, Heru. He admitted that he also received intimidation from a number of people by telephone.

"Yes... he asked to be silent. Don't interfere," he said.

On that basis, he threatened to return if someone contacted him again with an unknown number, it would be recorded to be evidence.

"Now we are recording. Make it proof. That's why no one has called again today," he concluded.

Now the Tangerang sea fence has been lifted. Although the fence is more than 30 kilometers long, the revocation will be carried out in stages.

The action of removing the maritime fence was carried out by the Indonesian Navy after receiving orders from the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto.
