Missing Victims Of The Glodok Plaza Mall Fire Reached 14 People, 6 Bodies Have Been Found

Based on records from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of the West Jakarta Region, 14 residents have been reported missing in the fire incident at Glodok Plaza Mall, Tamansari, West Jakarta.

West Jakarta BPBD Task Force Head, Vitus DI said the number of missing people reported to the Command Post currently reaches 14 residents.

"There have been 14 victims who have been reported to the post," said Vitus to VOI, Friday, January 17, 2025.

Here are 14 people who were reported missing: Aulia Belinda (28) a woman, Deri Sauki (25) male, Osima Yukari (25) female, Aldrina S (29) female, Aryti (29) female, Shinta Amelia (20) female, Indira Seviana Bela (25) female, Keren Silom J (21) female, Intan Mutiara (26) female, Desti (female), Zukhi Radja (42) male, Chika Adinda Yustin (26) female, Muljadi (56) male and Dian Cahyadi (38) female.

"For these names, the family has reported to the field tactical post that the family has not returned home," he said.

The fire incident at Glodok Plaza Mall scorched 3 floors in the building on Wednesday night, January 15, 2025. The flames burned down the 7th floor, 8th to 9th floors.

"The fire allegedly appeared from the 7th floor of the building. Then it spread to the 7th, 8th and 9th floors. The cause is still under investigation," he said.

As of Friday, January 17, noon, the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Service was still searching for fire victims at Glodok Plaza Mall. Officers also continue to monitor the condition of the burning building.

"Still in the sweeping process. Currently in the process of cooling down and searching for other victims," said Vitus.

Previously, it was reported that the bodies of two victims of the Glodok Plaza Mall fire in Tamansari District, West Jakarta, were again found by a joint team on Friday, January 17, morning.

"Two victims were again found on the 8th floor dead on Friday morning at around 06.29 WIB," said West Jakarta BPBD Head of Task Force, Vitus DI when confirmed by VOI, Friday, January 17, morning.

The two bodies have not been identified because the victim suffered burns all over his body. Furthermore, the two bodies were taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital using an ambulance.
