Four Brawlers In Semarang Charged With Beatings

The police arrested four perpetrators of a brawl in the city of Semarang, Central Java, who injured one of his opponents with a gun, charged with Article 170 of the Criminal Code regarding beatings.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Semarang Polrestabes Kompol Andika Dharma Sena said the brawl occurred on Tuesday (14/1) in the early hours of the North Semarang area.

"Two groups challenged each other through social media and then fought in the Purwosari area, North Semarang," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, January 16.

In the brawl, he said, one victim with the initials B (27) suffered a number of sharp weapons on his body.

"After the incident was secured, 16 people were involved in the brawl. Of these, four of them were named suspects in the persecution of the victim," he said.

From the confessions of the perpetrators, one of whom is still a minor, he continued, all of them stabbed the victim.

It was also confiscated by a number of sharp weapons measuring more than 1 meter long and a match gun used to scare his opponent.

The injured victims in the incident, he continued, were still being treated at the hospital due to injuries to several parts of the body.
