Hasto Kristiyanto Learns The Rights Of The Suspect Ahead Of Being Examined By The KPK

PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto admitted that he had studied the rights as a suspect before being questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission in the alleged bribery and obstruction of the investigation on Monday (13/1).

"I have obligations, even I have read my rights as a suspect. I have learned the rights as a suspect as well as possible," said Hasto in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Jakarta, Sunday.

Hasto said he would be committed to respecting the entire legal process addressed to him. Moreover, the alleged case that ensnared him was an old problem.

"Because this has been a problem for a long time and in accordance with my commitment I will fully obey the entire legal process. The law is just. We respect all processes directed at me," he said.

According to him, the commitment to face the legal process is in line with the PDIP's journey as a political party. Hasto also recalled the steep path facing the party bearing the white-nosed bull.

"I will respect the whole process, will follow the whole process with confidence because from the start, we knew the path taken by the PDI-P, since the PNI during the Bung Karno, PDI, Bu Mega to the PDI-P era, indeed the steep roads that must be faced with ideological beliefs," he said.

Hasto previously said that he had received a summons from the KPK for questioning on Monday (13/1). Hasto also admitted that he was ready to attend the summons from the anti-corruption commission.

"I have received a summons from the KPK to attend on January 13, 2025. At 10:00. I declare that as a law-abiding citizen, I will be present to fulfill the KPK's summons and provide the best possible information," said Hasto, Thursday (9/1).

KPK investigators were originally going to examine Hasto as a suspect in the alleged bribery and obstruction case investigation of Harun Masiku on Monday (6/1) at 10.00 WIB. However, Hasto was not present so the KPK rescheduled it.

Then, the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP for National Legal System Reform Ronny Talapessy said that Hasto submitted a request for an examination of him to be carried out after the party's anniversary commemoration on Friday (10/1).

The KPK also rescheduled Hasto's examination to Monday (13/1). KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika emphasized that rescheduling Hasto's examination was a common thing to do and not a privilege.

It is known that KPK investigators, Tuesday (12/24/2024), named two new suspects in the Harun Masiku series of cases, namely PDI-P Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto (HK) and advocate Donny Tri Istiqomah (DTI).

HK allegedly arranged and controlled DTI to lobby KPU members at that time, Wahyu Setiawan, in order to determine Harun Masiku as a candidate for DPR RI PDIP elected from the South Sumatra I electoral district.

HK is also suspected of regulating and controlling DTI to actively take and deliver bribes to be handed over to Wahyu Setiawan, through a former Bawaslu member who is also a former PDIP cadre, Agustiani Tio Fridelina. Meanwhile, Wahyu and Agustiani had previously been convicted in this case.
