JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta DPRD PAN Faction Chairman Bambang Kusumanto asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to listen to input from residents regarding the plan to sell beer shares.

Currently, the DKI Pemprov owns 26.25 percent of shares in the liquor production company PT Delta Djakarta Tbk. DKI has again submitted its wish to divest the shares.

"If the proceeds from the sale of the shares will benefit the people of Jakarta in the future, then the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government should also ask for input from the public regarding the sale", Bambang said in his statement, Thursday, March 4.

Currently, the DKI Provincial Government is waiting for approval from the DPRD (Regional House of Representatives) regarding the sale of PT Delta's shares. This is because when there is a transfer of regional assets over IDR 5 billion, it must go through the approval of the DKI DPRD. This is by Government Regulation Number 27 of 2014 concerning the Management of State Property.

By asking for opinions from residents, said Bambang, Anies could bring the results of these aspirations to encourage the DKI DPRD to permit to release of shares of alcoholic companies.

"The results of public opinion can also be the basis for the provincial government to continue pushing the plan to sell shares to the DPRD", said Bambang.

"As a regulator, the provincial government can still control the sale of alcoholic drinks without having to own shares in beer companies", he continued.

Previously, DKI DPRD Chairman Prasetyo Edi Marsudi questioned the reason the DKI Provincial Government wants to sell shares of the liquor (alcohol) production company PT Delta.

According to Prasetyo, there will be no financial loss if the DKI Provincial Government owns shares in PT Delta. In fact, DKI has received income from share ownership gains received since the days of DKI Governor Ali Sadikin.

"What's wrong with it? There's nothing wrong with it. The money (share profits) can be used for the RPTRA (development) or what else", said Prasetyo.

According to Prasetyo, the placement of shares from the DKI Provincial Government to PT Delta, in addition to increasing regional income, is also carried out to measure the extent to which Delta-made drinks such as Anker, Carlsberg, and San Miguel brands are circulating.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria answered the DPRD's question why it wanted to sell shares of the liquor production company PT Delta Djakarta Tbk.

Said Deputy Governor Riza, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan wanted to sell beer shares to complete the campaign promise at the 2017 DKI Governor Election when paired with Sandiaga Uno.

"Regarding shares in PT Delta, this is a promise from Anies-Sandi. Every leader has a campaign promise. When elected, it means that those who are elected must fulfill their promises", said Riza.
