Police: There Is No Element Of SARA In The Case Of Persecution Of Porridge Workers In Bidaraacina

The police said the case of mistreatment of a porridge named Udin by a sharp armed thug in Bidaraacina Village, Jatinegara District, Friday (26/4) afternoon was a pure crime and there were no elements of ethnicity, race, religion and intergroup (SARA).

"Strating the hoax news that spread that the case had nothing to do with the SARA element," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief KombesNicolas Ary Lilipaly in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, April 27.

Nicolas explained that this case began when the victim was selling porridge. Then the perpetrator and a friend came.

The perpetrator ordered porridge for Rp. 5,000. The victim prepared the porridge and handed it over to the perpetrator. Furthermore, the victim asked for the money but the perpetrator did not respond to it, aka the perpetrator did not want to pay.

"Finally, the victim told the perpetrator that if you want to ask for porridge, just say it because the victim will give it for free," he said.

That's where the perpetrator was offended and then returned home to pick up the sickle. The perpetrator came alone to approach the victim and immediately slashed the sickle into the victim's cart five times so that the victim's cart was damaged.

"In addition, the perpetrator also kicked the victim's cart so that the victim's cart capsized," he said.

From this chronology, Nicolas concluded that the incident was purely a criminal case. There is no element other than the criminal case being handled by the East Jakarta Metro Police (Jaktim).

The East Jakarta Metro Police have conducted an investigation regarding the whereabouts of the perpetrators. "However, until now the whereabouts of the perpetrators have not been found," he said.

East Jakarta Metro Police are hunting for the perpetrators of the attack on Udin, a green peanut porridge and also a mosque imam on Jalan Tanjung Lengkong, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta.

"We have been chasing the perpetrator since two days ago, but we haven't seen him until now. We have made efforts to arrest him," said East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Nicolas Ary Lilipaly when confirmed in Jakarta, Friday (26/4).

Until now, the perpetrators are still running away. His party has approached the family, parents and other families.

"If you know the whereabouts of the perpetrators, please tell us to make arrests," he said.

Nicolas confirmed from the results of the investigation at the time of the incident the perpetrators of the attack were influenced by alcohol. "That's a drunk person, an ordinary crime case. We're working on it," he said.
