Police Will Stop Cases Of 6 FPI Troops, The Reason Is That The Suspect Has Died

JAKARTA - The National Police will stop the process of investigating the case of assault of police officers by six Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) troops. The reason was that the paramilitary troops had died during the incident.

"Later we will have SP3 (Letter of Order to Stop Investigation) because the suspect has passed away", said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, to reporters, Thursday, March 4.

Agus said that the six irregulars were still named suspects because in every case there must be a responsible party. Therefore, the investigators decided to establish them as suspects with sufficient evidence.

"Yes, there must be legal accountability", he said.

Apart from that, the determination of the suspect was also carried out because all the series of cases of the six FPI troops were resolved properly.

"It means that we are still processing the process of the initial act of the incident", he said.

Previously, the National Police-Criminal Investigation Unit named 6 Laskar (troops) of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) as suspects in the case of assaulting members of the National Police during a clash on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 50 toll road.

"Yes, they are 6 suspects (FPI Laskar)", said the Director of General Crimes at the National Police-Criminal Investigation Unit, Brigadier General Andi Rian.

The six FPI paramilitaries were designated as suspects under Article 170 of the Criminal Code. In fact, the 6 FPI Laskar had died.

He said this was by the investigation process regarding the assault case against members of the National Police.

"Why is that possible? Yes, it can. become a suspect first, then the court will decide how to go forward", said Andi.
