JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto asked the public not to tamper with the material similar to the munitions found after the fire caused by the explosion at the Paldam Jaya Munisi Warehouse.

The public is asked to immediately report to the officers if they get or see a munisist-like object. Because only officers who have the ability can secure it.

"Yes, this is the community to understand, if there are explosives, don't attack them, just report them to the police immediately. There may be Babinsa or Bhabinkamtibmas," Karyoto told reporters, Saturday, March 30.

Karyoto said, not just anyone can secure explosives. In fact, a policeman must have a special ability to do so.

"Not every police officer, they must be really professional. If we are from Brimob, we will come down later," he said.

In addition, Karyoto also said that the police would start patrolling to comb and look for explosives that might have been ejected when the explosion occurred.

"If we are already running. We appeal to the public, the obligation from the media is to provide knowledge to the public if there are objects that are suspected to be similar, just report them to the officers," said Karyoto.

The explosion of the Paldam Jaya Munis Warehouse occurred at around 18.05 WIB. Based on amateur videos circulating, the fire soared. The explosion created panic among residents around the area.

In fact, there are several shells thrown into residential areas. Currently, these objects have been secured by local TNI members.
