Bawaslu: Report On Jokowi For Social Assistance Near The Prabowo-Gibran Banner Does Not Meet The Elements Of Election Violation

JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of the Republic of Indonesia said that the alleged slowdown in the Election in the form of the distribution of social assistance (bansos) involving President Joko Widodo or Jokowi did not fulfill the elements.

The alleged violation occurred when Jokowi made a working visit or work visit to the Serang area, Banten.

"That regarding the alleged election violation committed by President Jokowi, it is suspected that he committed a violation when he went to Serang, Banten, Jokowi distributed social assistance in Banten with a banner of candidate pair 02," said the Chairman of Bawaslu, Rahmat Bagja, during a trial at the Constitutional Court, Thursday, March 28.

The activity of providing social assistance by Joko Widodo was carried out on January 8, 2024. As a sosotan, the distribution of aid was carried out close to the Prabowo-Gibran banner.

This action raises allegations of partiality in the 2024 election contestation.

However, Bagja said that from the results of the examination and study conducted by the Banten Province Bawaslu, the reporting of this matter was deemed not to fulfill the elements of election violations.

Therefore, the Banten Province Bawaslu did not follow up on the report.

"Bawaslu Banten Province issued the results of a study on the report number 002/2024 tangal January 18, 2024, which was not followed up because the reporting did not fulfill the elements of election violations," said Bagja.
