Minister Of Health Budi Promises Delay In Claims For COVID-19 Treatment At Liquid Private Hospital April

JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin admitted that there was a delay in payment of claims for hospitals that handle COVID-19 patients.

There are still 348 hospitals whose claims have not been paid by the Ministry of Health. The details, of the total verified Rp3.7 trillion, amounted to Rp1.9 trillion. Meanwhile, those who have not been verified are IDR 2.6 trillion.

According to Budi, the Ministry of Health promised to disburse the hospital treatment claim payments until April 2021.

"We have formed a dispute resolution team, the Ministry of Health's decree has been issued. I ask that it be coordinated with the Deputy Minister of Health (Dante Saksono) so that this claim can be resolved no later than April," Budi said in a working meeting with Commission IX DPR RI. Tuesday, February 9.

Budi said, the acceleration of late hospital claim payments is in line with the Ministry of Health's Decree which contains the formation of a dispute team which functions to review hospital claims payments that are still in process.

However, Budi admitted that his party did not have the courage to force the payment of hospital claims if the filing documents and underwriting criteria were not complete. Given, this has the potential to become a problem when examined by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"We are afraid that if the payment will still be paid, there will be problems from the BPK and BPKP sides," said Budi.

Previously, the Association of Indonesian Private Hospitals (ARSSI) revealed that the Ministry of Health had not paid bill for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, which reached tens of billions of rupiah.

As a result of claims that the payment for COVID-19 patients has not decreased, a number of private hospitals also find it difficult to cover the treatment for isolation patients and the COVID-19 ICU.
