Journalists Become Brains Of Fraud In Bodong Investment In Sukabumi

SUKABUMI - Head of the Sukabumi City Police, AKBP Ari Setyawan Wibowo, said that from the results of the investigation and investigation carried out by the Sukabumi City Police Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim), the mastermind of a fraudulent investment engaged in the rental of residential pawnshops in Sukabumi City, West Java, was an unscrupulous journalist.

Ari at the Sukabumi Police Headquarters, Thursday, said that this journalist with the initials H (43) was on the wanted list (DPO) for a fraudulent rental investment case for residential pawnshops, but finally surrendered himself to be escorted by the Chairman of the DPD of the Indonesian Journalists Association of West Java PWRI to the Sukabumi City Police Headquarters on Wednesday, April 24 at around 16.00 WIB.

According to Ari, the suspect in this case is the leader or director and owner of PT AAP. Until now, the Sukabumi City Police Satreskrim is still developing.

Previously, H was hunted by his personnel because he had fled, but finally chose to surrender himself who was accompanied by PWRI West Java administrators to the Sukabumi City Police Headquarters.

Meanwhile, the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Sukabumi City Police, AKP Bagus Panuntun, said the suspect's modus operandi was to lure his victims to get the house he wanted at a low price as long as they wanted to invest in PT AAP.

After handing over the agreed money, the victim was given a house to live in and promised after two years the house could be owned by the victim and the money invested would be returned only for administration.

"The average loss to victims starts from Rp. 20 million to Rp. 100 million. For the time being, the number of victims has been dozens of people and there are still some residents who report and claim to be victims," he added.

He appealed to residents who feel they are victims of fraudulent investments to immediately report to his party so that they can be followed up by bringing evidence such as proof of transactions and so on.
