Jokowi Reminded The Minister Not To Use Anything To Make A Policy: One CAN Be Bleeding A Little Bit

President Joko Widodo asked all levels of the Minister of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet to be careful in making policies in the midst of the current global crisis situation.

This was conveyed by Jokowi in his direction at the opening of the XVII National Conference of the 2022 Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) in Solo, Central Java, Monday, November 21.

"Be careful making policies, so it's a little wrong, it can be bleeding and there are already examples. I think you know. England has a little policy wrong, the wrong policy results can go anywhere. This is what we don't want. I always advise all ministers, be careful making policies in a very vulnerable position like this," Jokowi said as quoted by Antara.

Jokowi reiterated that there should be no mistake in making policies. Especially with regard to the lives of many people.

He emphasized that that was why he often visited markets on various visits in the regions, namely in order to make the right policies.

"Why do I go to markets every day, almost every week, I go to markets. Just this morning I also entered the market in Boyolali, I checked what prices went up, what stable prices. So that we can feel it. Don't be mistaken, we made a policy," he explained.

Joko Widodo conveyed that Indonesia's trade balance for 30 consecutive months was always in surplus. Meanwhile, in other countries similar things do not happen.

"Right now it's just a matter of fuel, everything is dizzy. The business is called food, everything is lacking. All countries, the increase can be 30 percent, it can be 40 percent, it can be 50 percent. We can still maintain this price stability, this is what we must convey so that we are optimistic but must remain careful and must remain vigilant," said Joko Widodo.

On the other hand, he said Indonesia had just completed the G20 Presidency in Bali. According to him, this is a mandate and a great honor and Indonesia is currently at the peak of global leadership, because currently Indonesia is also the Chair of ASEAN.

What I want to remind you is that it is a belief that we do not easily gain. As entrepreneurs, what we build is a belief in us. This is also our country to build international, global trust, and the trust of other countries in Indonesia," he said.

President Jokowi said that building trust was not easy. International trust in Indonesia occurs because Indonesia is able to present concrete and real numbers.

Our economy is good. Among the G20 countries we are among the best. This builds trust from there. When we as the Chair of the G20 held the G20 Summit in Bali, our economic fit in the third quarter was at 5.72 percent. Try to compare it with other G20 countries. Our inflation is also in control, we can control it also in a position that is still very good at 5.7 percent. Things like this that foster global trust in us," he explained.

He is of the view that existing trust makes it easier for Indonesia to offer investment. So that Indonesia must maintain and increase the already good numbers, while still being aware of the global economic landscape that can have an impact on the national economy.
