Develop Garuda Indonesia Cases, KPK Set Former Member Of The DPR And One Company To Be Suspected

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named former members of the DPR and one company as suspects in the bribery case of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk. This determination is the development of the 2010-2015 Airbus aircraft procurement case.

"The alleged bribery is worth around Rp. 100 billion, which is allegedly received by members of the Indonesian House of Representatives 2009-2014 and other parties, including the corporation," said Head of the KPK News Division Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, October 2.

It was not specified who the former members of the DPR and the company were suspects. Ali only stated that the KPK cooperated with two European countries when developing this case.

"The investigations carried out by the KPK are a follow-up to the results of cooperation with the authorities of other countries including the UK and France," he said.

Ali said that his party was grateful because the two countries had provided assistance. The KPK believes that this step is a form of commitment to cooperation in eradicating corruption in the international community.

Furthermore, the KPK has not spoken much about the chronology of this presumptuous practice in this state-owned company. All findings will be submitted to the public when the suspects are detained.

Detention is also confirmed to be in accordance with the applicable law. "After this investigation is sufficient, we will immediately announce a series of alleged criminal acts, parties with suspect status and articles that are then suspected," concluded Ali.
