JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin hopes that Indonesia and CHINA can increase mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, such as in the trade sector whose value reached 110 billion US dollars last year.

"I hope that Indonesia and China can continue to take advantage of the current opportunity to realize more concrete cooperation that is more profitable," said the Vice President when receiving the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Indonesia, Lu Kang, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 18.

The Vice President stated that Indonesia really appreciates the spirit of China to open wider cooperation in various fields.

He said the Indonesia-China cooperation can continue to increase the value of trade in the future so that it is hoped that Indonesia's trade deficit can be minimized.

"I entrust the Ambassador while on duty in Indonesia to continue to encourage the policies of the two countries to narrow the deficit or balance the trade value of the two countries," he said.

The vice president also hopes that China can expand export products from MSMEs in Indonesia so that the Indonesian economy can improve further. According to the Vice President, massive coordination can be carried out in resolving the problem of exporting products from Indonesia to China.

Vice President Ma'ruf Amin also congratulated the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang on his new assignment in Indonesia.

“Welcome and congratulations on your new assignment as Ambassador in Jakarta. Regarding the cooperation between the two countries, I am very happy to see the development of cooperation between Indonesia and China which is getting stronger," he said.

"I am willing to work together with the Indonesian side to implement the important agreements that have been reached by our Head of State, in order to bring more benefits and prosperity to our people," said Ambassador Lu Kang.

Responding to the Vice President's expectation regarding the expansion of exports of domestic products, Ambassador Lu Kang said that the Chinese people's demand for Indonesian products in agriculture and fisheries is high, and China is interested in importing more Indonesian products in these two fields.

As for overcoming obstacles in efforts to increase investment and trade cooperation, Ambassador Lu Kang proposed renewing agreements in the fields of technology and economics, in order to facilitate the licensing of companies to the market.
