After Suga, RM And Jin BTS Tested Positive For COVID-19 After United States Tour

JAKARTA - Two more members of K-pop idol group BTS again tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday, after returning to South Korea after undergoing the band's first pandemic-era concert in the United States, their management company Big Hit Music said.

Rapper RM, 27, and vocalist Jin, 29, were diagnosed with COVID-19 a day after Suga, a songwriter and rapper for the seven-member group, tested positive.

25, the three BTS members had completed their second dose of the coronavirus vaccine in August, the company said.

Since their debut in 2013, BTS has spearheaded the global K-Pop craze with catchy and upbeat music and dance, lyrics and social campaigns aimed at empowering young people.

The concert in the United States is BTS' first in the country since 2019, when they toured Asia, Europe and North America.

RM, whose real name is Kim Nam-joon, and Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, initially tested negative upon returning to South Korea earlier this month.

RM, who tested positive while preparing to leave the mandatory quarantine, is asymptomatic, Big Hit Music said.

Meanwhile, Jin tested negative a second time when he left quarantine, but was later diagnosed after experiencing symptoms, which the company said were mild.

To note, neither Jin nor RM had any contact with the other group members after their return to South Korea, the company said.
