Lost For A Day Swept By Southern Wave, Body Of Elementary School Student In Sukabumi Finally Found
SUKABUMI - The missing elementary school student MR (12) drowned at Lambau Beach or Karangpapa Beach, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, last Sunday, October 31. The victim's body was found 100 meters from the scene on Monday, November 1.
The head of the Sukabumi Regency Regional SAR Communication Forum, Okih Fajri, said the victim was found not far from the scene, in Cimarinjkung Tengah Village, Karangpapak Village, Cisolok District.
"Information received from the SAR team, the victim was found at around 05.45 western Indonesia time in a state of death approximately 100 meters from the location where MR was seen drowning," he said in Sukabumi, Antara, Monday.
The discovery of the victim was thanks to information from the victim's grandmother who saw her grandson's body washed up on the beach and immediately reported it to the SAR personnel who had been on standby since the victim was declared missing and drowned.
The SAR team rushed to the location of the victim's whereabouts and after being identified from the face, skin, hair, and last clothes worn by the victim, it was confirmed that the body was MR, and was immediately evacuated to a funeral home not far from the location of the discovery.

At the request of the family, the elementary school student's body was not taken to the Palabuhanratu Hospital for a post-mortem, because his parents considered the incident that took his son's body a pure accident.
"When the victim's body was found, it was still intact, but visually, there were several abrasions on his body and his nose was still bleeding, it was suspected that he had hit a rock or other hard object when his body was tossed by the ocean waves which were eventually carried away by the current to the shoreline," added Okih.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Jakarta Search and Rescue Office as the SAR Mission Coordinator (SMC) in the SAR operation Hendra Sudirman also expressed his condolences for the incident that happened to M Rafli, but on the other hand, he appreciated all SAR personnel who had put their best effort and volunteered their time during the SAR operation.
"The victim's body has been handed over to the family for burial and burial. With the discovery of the victim of this marine accident, the SAR operation is closed," he said.
The MR victim before the accident had time to play football with his colleagues on Sunday morning at around 06.00 western Indonesia time. Tired of playing ball, he and his partner played seawater on the beach. But the waves hit him and immediately pulled his body to the middle of the sea.
The coast guard officers who rushed and tried to save the student who was still sitting in elementary school did not manage to reach him, the waves quickly rolled over the victim, and instantly his body sank and disappeared.
