Megawati's Statement Asking PDIP Party Cadres To Resign Was Allegedly To Be Sarcastic By Supporters Of Ganjar Pranowo
JAKARTA - A political observer from Indonesia's Al-Azhar University, Ujang Komarudin, assessed that the statement by PDIP Party Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri who asked cadres to resign if they did not carry out orders was a satire for the supporters of the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.
"It seems that Ganjar's supporters are being sarcastic, because so far they are considered to have disobeyed the party's principles," said Ujang in Jakarta, October 29.
The reason is, continued Ujang, the PDIP Central Executive Board (DPP) has instructed cadres not to talk about the presidential election and even make a declaration before the general chairman issues instructions.
"Perhaps because the letter was ignored, Megawati became angry," said the Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Review (IPR).
Previously, PDIP Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri invited cadres who no longer felt at home in their party to resign. He said he would not fire cadres who no longer want to carry out their party's duties.
"Who is responsible for the party's rules, the general chairman, me. So if you are not loyal or don't want to carry out the party's duties, then don't be a party person," Megawati said when giving directions at the inauguration of the Bung Karno Park MSME Inscription and 16 Party Offices, Thursday, October 28.

"Nowadays, I often say, if they don't like PDIP anymore, please resign. Instead of me getting tired of being fired, just resign, it's over, that's your right," she continued.
She then mentioned the question of party cadres who did not accept being fired and then sued. In fact, said Mega, the party rules had been agreed upon in the congress which was also attended by the cadres concerned.
"Now it's a little bit if those who have been fired and then sued. That makes me laugh, I already know why there are rules that aren't implemented. It wasn't me, you know, it was a party congress attended by all of you. So it was an absolute decision from all of you that was left to me as the elected general chairman. So don't turn it around," explained Megawati.
"So if you're not happy, please resign immediately, it's easier that way. Because to this day, if there is a lawsuit, we win. Not I won, but the party won. Because I obeyed the Statutes and bylaws, I didn't play arbitrarily," she continued.
