JAKARTA - Head of the General Bureau of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) Wiwiek Widiyanti reported a case of alleged defamation to the Metro Jaya Police. The report is related to the action of profiteering to find vendors in the procurement of goods and services projects.

"Allegedly defamation by claiming to have received a mandate from the Head of the General Bureau to find a winner in the project for the procurement of goods and services with the Ministry of Social Affairs," Acting Head of the Legal Bureau of the Ministry of Social Affairs Evi Flamboyan told reporters, Wednesday, October 27.

In this report, the reported party has the initials M. Where, in fact, the reporting party and the reported party do not know each other.

"The reporter and the reported party don't know each other, so we only got a screenshot from the witness," said Evi.

In addition, based on the testimony of the witness who had communicated with the reported party, the mode used was as if the reported party was an accomplice of the Head of the General Bureau of the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Then, the reported party offered the witness to participate in the project. But on condition that the witness must pay a fee.

"He (the reported) claimed to be an envoy for Mrs. Wiwiek, as Mrs. Wiwiek's right hand man. Then he offered to the witness that there was a project at the Ministry of Social Affairs and asked to pay a certain fee," said Evi.

Luckily, the witness first confirmed this. Where, from the statement from the Ministry of Social Affairs, there is nothing related to the procurement project.

The report has also been received by Metro Jaya Police. The report was registered with the number LP/B/5344/X/2021/SPKT/Metro Jaya Police, dated 27 October.

In the report, the reported party is suspected of violating Article 27 paragraph 3 in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph 3 of Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE and Articles 310 and 311 of the Criminal Code regarding the spread of good names through electronic media.
