Animal Defender Team Who Wants To Investigate Canon's Death In Aceh Singkil Gets Verbal Persecution
JAKARTA - The Animal Defender team, who immediately rushed to Aceh Singkil when they received the news that a dog named Canon had died, began to receive verbal persecution.
This was revealed by Animal Defender representative Doni Herdaru when interviewed by Kompas TV. Also present at that time were the Head of Civil Service Police (Satpol PP) and Wilayatul Hisbah, Aceh Singkil Regency, Ahmad Yani.
Doni suspected that their planned arrival to Aceh Singkil was already known. At first, he did not expect that there would be a fast boat with the Head of Tourism and Creative Economy of Aceh Singkil, Sukarni, when he wanted to go to Aceh Singkil.
"He himself was shouting beside me since before crossing with the fast boat. He was seen behind me staying in the boat and said 'kill canon'. 'Good he is not the one who died'. " said Doni, Tuesday, October 26.
"We are not anti-halal tourism, we are not anti-Islamic law, but just want to process how to handle these animals. Animals are the main task of the Livestock Service Office, why aren't they taken down?" Doni continued.

Doni said he was not afraid of the threat. Because what is being fought for is so that animals as one living thing have the right to live. Doni hopes that the police will protect the witnesses, the owner of the resort, and the person who recorded the video.
"If I die here, please friends, continue my struggle, just report it," he continued.
Doni pushed for an autopsy on Canon's body by the police. Even Animal Defender helps if there is no equipment in Aceh Singkil.
From the autopsy, Canon's cause of death will be seen. Whether he is dehydrated or has a heat stroke?
"Because if you look at the video, a Canon is put in a fruit basket and it is kept closed, like a dog in a jar. Where does the breath come from..." Doni explained.
"Don't mess around," Ahmad Yani suddenly said that during the event.
"Why sir, don't mess around you say?" Doni challenged him back.
Aceh Singkil Regent Bans Dogs on Banyak Island
The Regent of Aceh Singkil, Dulmusrid, ensured that his staff in the Civil Service Police Unit did not torture dogs while carrying out control at a resort on Banyak Island. Dulmusrid also said controlling dogs to maximize the concept of halal tourism.
"Regarding the allegation of animal abuse during the evacuation of a dog at the Banyak Island tourist site, that is absolutely not true," said Regent Dulmusrid specifically by Antara, Monday, October 25.
He said, efforts to control livestock, such as dogs at a resort by Satpol PP officers in the Pulau Banyak tourist area, were carried out in a persuasive manner and in accordance with applicable operational standards.
Dulmusrid said, before evacuating dogs from the resort location, the local government, including the Aceh Government and the sub-district, had tried to socialize the ban on the presence of dogs in tourist sites.
In fact, he said, the local government through the sub-district on Pulau Banyak has also warned resort owners several times not to let dogs roam around tourist sites. However, this appeal was ignored by the resort owner.
