Event Organizers Want Simulation of Health Protocols Before Holding Music Concert
JAKARTA – The government has provided leniency in the application of restrictions on community activities (PPKM), one of which is by allowing music performances and several other activities. Of course, this policy is welcomed by many event organizers (EO), but it must be on the condition that it adheres to health protocols.
Chairman of the Behavior Change Division of the COVID-19 Handling Task Force Sonny Harry B Harmadi said it was necessary to conduct training on the application of health protocols (prokes) for event organizers, in order to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 in an event or show.
Sonny said that the event organizers needed to work hand in hand with elements of the government, the COVID-19 task force, and the security forces so that the event in the middle of Level 2 and 3 PPKM could run according to the implementation of health protocols.
"This is joint work, not just the work of the COVID-19 task force, or the government, or event organizers. But it needs the support of all parties, including later performers such as artists or bands so that those who apply health protocols can be good examples for the wider community," said Sonny quoting Antara, Wednesday, October 20.

The first Event Organizer Association in Indonesia, Backstagers Indonesia, confirmed that training on the application of health protocols was needed to optimize the prevention of COVID-19 in holding large events at locations with Level 2 and 3 PPKM.
"We as event organizers want to be better prepared to understand the application of health protocols. In the past we participated in the Training of Trainers to become CHSE auditors from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, now such events do not exist anymore. Even though we need activities to understand health protocols in an event," said Founder of Backstagers Indonesia, Krisnanto Sutrisman in a webinar, quoted on Wednesday.
He suggested that training could be given through simulations such as semi-concerts or large events that were prepared nationally so that event organizer workers could understand the flow and mechanism of health protocols according to government standards and the COVID-19 Task Force.
This activity is also expected to be able to collaborate with groups or individuals who have a big influence so that the campaign for implementing health protocols in big events is not only understood by event organizers but also the general public.
"Simulations such as semi-concerts or other large activities attended by bands or influential people can be innovations to provide understanding regarding health protocols," he said.
"Not only concerts, for example, but there are also brand activations, workshops, it's all carried out in one event so it's clear from upstream to downstream. People who participate also understand that this is an event with health protocols so that from the event organizer to the community everything is ready," said Krisnanto.
In addition to training and simulations on health protocols, synchronization related to the rules for organizing large events is also expected to be realized between the organizers, local governments, and the COVID-19 task force.
So that there is positive certainty regarding the holding of large events that are starting to be allowed to take place in areas that are included in Level 2 and 3 PPKM.
