DPR Condemns The Alleged Intention Of The Perpetrators Of 'My Three Children Were Raped' Reporting The Police, Trying To Intimidate The Victim

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the House of Representatives, Ahmad Sahroni, spoke in the case of the alleged rape of three children by his biological father in East Luwu, South Sulawesi. Sahroni criticized the alleged perpetrator's intention to report back on his ex-wife on charges of defamation.

"Reporting this victim is tantamount to trying to intimidate the victim. In my opinion, the suspect is only trying to justify himself, which actually makes the public even angrier with his actions", Sahroni told reporters in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 12.

The NasDem politician believes that if the alleged perpetrator feels innocent, he should face the legal process. In fact, Sahroni said, reporting back will not change the facts and the legal process.

"If you feel you are innocent, then just face the legal process. Keep in mind that reporting back will not change the facts and the legal process that is being investigated again", he said.

In addition, the DKI Jakarta legislator suggested that the public and related parties should focus on the ongoing legal process at the police.

"Now that the investigation has been attempted to be re-investigated and reopened, we entrust it to the police", he said.

Commission III of the House of Representatives, said Sahroni, will also continue to oversee the case to ensure justice for the victims.

"I and Commission III will assist the victim and oversee the legal process of this case to completion", concluded Sahroni.

Previously, the Head of the Public Information Bureau of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, confirmed that the investigation into the alleged rape of three children in East Luwu, South Sulawesi, was following the procedure.

"Police work based on evidence, then investigators are independent. Once again, Polri works based on evidence, and investigators are independent", said Rusdi, Sunday, October 10.

Reports of the rape of three minors allegedly carried out by the father of the womb went viral on social media after many parties urged that the case that had been terminated be reopened.

Now the National Police are responding to the East Luwu case which has attracted public attention, sending the Police Criminal Investigation Team Assistance Team to assist the East Luwu Police in taking steps to resolve the case.

Police, said Rusdi, are ready to open the case if new evidence is found. The evidence can be submitted by the reported party, as well as those found by the investigator.

"I say all of them are looking for new evidence, the Police are also doing it, parties outside the Police are also doing it, we all respect that", said Rusdi.
