Minister Of Home Affairs: State Guarantees Equal Rights For Persons With Disabilities
JAKARTA - Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, emphasized that the state has guaranteed equal treatment and rights for persons with disabilities.
Tito Karnavian hopes that all levels of government will provide easy access, mobility, and equal treatment with other people.
"We guarantee equal treatment, equal rights, regardless of background, including conditions", said Home Affairs Minister, Tito Karnavian, quoted by Antara, Monday, October 11.
According to the Minister of Home Affairs, the state must provide comfort for persons with disabilities to be able to carry out their activities through development policies that are friendly to persons with disabilities.
He also said the role of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in this case, is very central to provide guidance and supervision of the running of government in the regions to be able to make development policy products that guarantee the rights of persons with disabilities.
"We hope that all regions at the provincial, district/city level, down to the villages have awareness, awareness is important to give the same rights to our disabled brothers and sisters", said Tito Karnavian.
The Minister of Home Affairs said that after the state guarantees equal treatment and rights for persons with disabilities through the support of its policy products, persons with disabilities are expected to become productive people and contribute to development according to their respective potentials.
According to him, limitations are not an obstacle for citizens to excel and contribute to development.
"I, as the Minister of Home Affairs, will certainly work as much as possible, encouraging local governments to be aware, care first, be aware first, that they are potential", he said.

Through government policies, he said, it is hoped that people with disabilities can feel comfortable living in their own country.
Not only that, but the Minister of Home Affairs also hopes that this momentum can also strengthen the commitment of state officials to be able to fulfill the rights of persons with disabilities in various sectors to become a truly inclusive country, equal to all parties, all groups, including persons with disabilities.
For this reason, the state also needs to ensure that people with disabilities can access health services, education, ease of mobility, social protection, and fulfill other rights, so that people with disabilities can be independent, become superior human resources, and can even contribute to the development of the nation and state.
