Formula E Canceled At Monas, PKS: Negative Comments Don't Need To Be Responded
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, will not hold Formula E in the National Monument (Monas) area. This has led to criticism from several parties. Because last year DKI has conducted a trial of asphalting as a circuit at Monas.
However, the chairman of Commission B of the DKI Regional House of Representatives from the PKS faction, Abdul Aziz, said that Anies did not need to respond to criticism or negative comments from other parties.
"We are allowing the committee to work on finding the ideal location. We will leave negative comments alone, they don't need to be taken seriously", said Aziz when contacted, Friday, October 8.
Instead, Aziz said, the location of the Formula E circuit being moved from the previous plan at Monas would reduce the cost of spending for PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) BUMD as the organizer.
"Instead, it was moved to make it more efficient in terms of funding. We are looking for a better location with a soil structure, so it doesn't require a large amount of money to adjust to the applicable standards", said Aziz.
Previously, Managing Director of Jakarta EPIX PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), Gunung Kartiko, said that the DKI Provincial Government will not use the National Monument (Monas) area as a Formula E circuit next year due to licensing issues.
"The venue, which is clearly not at Monas. That's just the clue because Monas seems a bit heavy in terms of licensing. So we are looking for an icon location that really shows Jakarta", said Gunung at the DKI Regional House of Representatives building, Wednesday, October 6.

In response, DKI Regional House of Representatives PDIP faction member, Ima Mahdiah, doubts that this electric car racing event will be successfully held next year. Because at this time the location that will be used as a circuit has not been confirmed.
"This is the most ironic thing about the venue. How can they say this race will be a success if the venue alone is still confused?", said Ima when contacted, Thursday, October 7th.
