Promises That Were Given By Anies' Subordinate For Formula E
JAKARTA - The ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government have begun to make promises to organize Formula E which will be held next year. That is, starting from the certainty of sponsors to the benefits achieved by Jakarta.
Sponsors are in line
Yesterday, President Director of PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Widi Amanasto claimed to have received a sponsor to hold Formula E.
In fact, the subordinates of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, said that the prospective sponsors were already waiting in line and waiting for Jakpro to finish drafting a proposal to enter into the Formula E cooperation agreement.
"Sponsors are waiting, the queue is long. But the sponsors must have seen the proposal. The proposal is not yet available, we prepare a proposal, we sell it," said Widi at the DKI Regional Representative Council (DPRD) building, Central Jakarta, October 6.
Widi explained the reason why Jakpro has not yet completed the proposal. He said that Jakpro was still waiting for the certainty of the implementation of Formula E, such as determining the location of the circuit.
"The proposal is waiting for the location first, then what kind of route. Then the sponsor also wants this point, this point. Well, we'll just arrange that," he said.
Currently, the deadline for the preparation for the implementation of Formula E is only eight months until June 2022. Although at this time the certainty of a sponsor has not been obtained, Widi believes that Jakpro can get a sponsor to cover the needs of Formula E.
"God willing, I have faith, I am a business person, I can (get sponsors)," he said.

The circuit
Apparently, Anies did not use the National Monument (Monas) area as a Formula E circuit because of licensing issues. This was stated by the Managing Director of Jakarta EPIX PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), Gunung Kartiko.
"The venue, which is clearly not at Monas. That's just the clue because Monas seems a bit heavy in terms of licensing. So we are looking for an icon location that really shows Jakarta," said Gunung at the DKI DPRD Building, Wednesday, October 6.
Moreover, said Gunung, if you want to make a Monas, it is feared that the circuit made will not be optimal because it uses non-permanent asphalt. "You know how Monas is, it is not good," said Gunung.
Therefore, currently, Jakpro has chosen five alternative locations for the implementation of Formula E. However, Gunung does not want to mention where the five locations are. What is clear, the circuit will use the existing road and be re-paved.
This statement was continued by the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria. Riza leaked one of the locations that became an option for the implementation of Formula E, after canceling the location at Monas.
According to Riza, one of the five alternative locations for the Formula E circuit is a reclamation island, namely Pulau D or Pantai Maju and Pulau G or Pantai Bersama.
In addition, the Senayan area is also one of the choices for the electric car racing circuit.
"Earlier, the Director of Jakpro said it was not at Monas, there are five alternatives which will be checked later. There are various kinds, including in Senayan, at Pantai Maju, (Beach) Bersama, and others," said Riza.
Profitable
The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government equates the Formula E event in Jakarta in June 2022 to the MotoGP at Mandalika in March 2022.
Quoted in his official document, the staff of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that Formula E benefits Indonesia in the eyes of the world, starting from the tourism, investment, and trade sectors.
"Similar to the March 2022 Mandalika MotoGP, Formula E June 2022 is a medium and long-term investment, to boost Indonesia's image and open wider economic opportunities in the future, including in the fields of tourism, investment, and world trade," wrote the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government statement.
The DKI Provincial Government has denied the notion that Formula E does not help restore the economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. They claim that Formula E will have a financial impact, economic impact, and reputational impact.
"The economic impact is the multiplier effect it causes. The reputational impact gives a message that Indonesia is back to business. The financial impact is the benefit that Jakpro (BUMD) gets," said the DKI Provincial Government.
For information, Anies has determined that Formula E will be held in June 2022. Based on a new agreement with Formula E Operation, this electric car racing event will be held for three years until 2024.
The DKI Provincial Government has disbursed Rp560 billion to pay the commitment fee. Then, to meet the cost of organizing Rp150 billion per year, DKI will use sponsors.
