Extortion Is Rampant In Medan, This Is What The Mayor Said, Bobby Nasution
MEDAN - Thugs asking for money are still rife in the city of Medan. Many incidents are also shared on social media.
Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution emphasized that extortion violates the rules. He also warned that the ranks of the Medan City Government would not commit extortion.
"Thugs or unscrupulous people who shouldn't ask for money with inappropriate actions can be extorted. Anyway, I can say that extortion is not only from government ranks", Bobby said, Tuesday, October 5.
Especially in traditional markets, Bobby Nasution said that illegal levies on traders should not occur. Bobby admitted that he had conveyed this to the newly inaugurated PUD Pasar Directors.
"Especially in the market, I have conveyed to the new directors, starting from garbage, bathrooms, cleanliness, parking, there should be no extortion either from internal or external", he said.
Therefore, Bobby Nasution gave time to the PUD Pasar Directors to immediately fix the managed traditional markets so that similar incidents would not be found again.
"We give them time to tidy up at the market. Yesterday, I saw several points being tidied up", he said.
