Punk Group At BKT Cengkareng Arrested, They Say They Are Upset Because Victims Bothersome When Drunk

JAKARTA - The Cengkareng Police have named 6 street kids with punk appearances as suspects in the persecution that led to the death of Ronald Siagian at the East Flood Canal (BKT), Cengkareng, West Jakarta, last Thursday, September 31. The arrest of the perpetrator opened up new facts regarding the chronology of the 27-year-old man's death.

The Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cengkareng Police, Insp. Bintang said that the six suspects, namely E (16), PP (16), S (32), HP (26), Z (21), and MY (19), had been arrested on Sunday, October 3.

"We have named six suspects in the murder case at river BKT," said Insp. Bintang when confirmed.

Bintang told a chronological story based on the suspect's statement. Bintang said, the incident began when the victim and his friend, initial A (19), drunkenly approached a group of punk boys to borrow a guitar. The guitar was then given by the suspect HP to the victim.

However, the victim returned the guitar because the victim could not play the three-stringed guitar. Then the victim listened to music from his friend's cellphone.

"Not long after, the victim and A took a group of punk kids to get drunk and ordered suspects S and Z to buy a bottle of drink," he explained.

During a liquor party (alcohol), the victim and the suspect were involved in a verbal altercation, in which the victim uttered harsh words. The situation subsided after the perpetrator calmed the victim's anger.

"Furthermore, suspect S and suspect MY were ordered to buy 2 more bottles of drinks to drink together, not yet the second bottle was finished, the victim again issued harsh words while hitting suspect PP three times," said Bintang.

The commotion continued after the suspect hit the victim until he fell.

"Not long after, the victim woke up and squeezed the suspect's shirt to challenge a fight and finally the group of street children got emotional and finally a beating occurred against the victim, and spread to Victim A's friend who was also hit because he also issued harsh words that were not pleasing to the street children group," he explained.

After being beaten, continued Bintang, the victim was then abandoned by the street children. Meanwhile, the victim's friend was beaten but managed to escape. Currently, the suspect is at the Cengkareng Police Station for further development.
