Instagram Users Can Now Chat Cross-Apps To Messenger
JAKARTA - Facebook is again improving the ability of its range of applications to work better with each other. Now Instagram and Messenger users can create cross-app group chats.
"Our goal is to help people feel connected even if they can't be together. Cross-app communication has made it easier for people to stay connected regardless of which app they use," Facebook said in its official blog, Friday, October 1.
The company says that currently, more than 70 percent of eligible Instagram users have tested this feature on Messenger. However, users still have the same control over who can contact them.
"With delivery controls, you decide who reaches your Chat List, who goes into your Message Requests folder, and who can't message or call you. Our number one priority is maintaining security and privacy," said Facebook.

Not only cross-app group chat, but Facebook also brings a number of other features. The poll will soon be available in Instagram group DMs and in cross-app chat. This feature allows users to choose a place for lunch through a voting system.
In addition, Facebook also added a group typing indicator to Messenger, where when many users are typing messages it will be detected. It's not yet clear if this feature will also come to Instagram.
Interestingly, currently, Instagram users can also use Facebook's Watch Together feature. Furthermore, inspired by J. Balvin's latest album and astrology themes, the Mark Zuckerberg-owned company has also added new chat themes to Messenger, including the cottagecore theme.
