Vice President Ma'ruf Amin Determined To End Extreme Poverty To 0 Percent By 2024
SURABAYA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin is determined to end extreme poverty by 0 percent by 2024. Where currently there are 10 million poor people spread across seven provinces in Indonesia.
"We are targeting 0 percent poverty in 2024, we can complete extreme poverty which previously was up to 10 million more than 0 percent," said Ma'ruf, on the sidelines of a poverty coordination meeting with East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, at the State building. Grahadi in Surabaya, Thursday, September 30.
It is known that there are seven provinces that are the focus of poverty alleviation. Apart from East Java, West Java, Central Java, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Maluku, Papua to West Papua, there are also many poor people. Specifically for East Java, there are five regencies, namely Bangkalan, Sumenep, Probolinggo, Bojonegoro, and Lamongan.

Ma'ruf who is also the Head of the National Team for the Acceleration of Poverty Reduction (TNP2K), visited East Java for a coordination meeting with Khofifah and five regents related to poverty. At the same time, he wants to know directly the recipe of the East Java Provincial Government in alleviating poverty.
"Today I visited East Java to meet with the governor and five regents in the context of extreme poverty alleviation activities," he said.
After holding the coordination meeting, Ma'ruf emphasized that his party would immediately take intervention steps, using the district and provincial budgets.
"And it will be assisted by the center and will also be added later by involving the private sector, God willing, and with its CSR partnership to help," he said.
