Digital Technology Has Become Advanced, Vice President Ma'ruf Asks Public Agencies To Improve Service

JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin appealed to all institutions related to state administration to improve themselves in presenting accurate information to the public.

"Public bodies must be ready to transform, make improvements and innovate in order to be able to present information quickly, accurately, safely, easily, and cheaply in order to support the quality of public services," said Vice President Ma'ruf in Commemoration of the World Right to Know Day 2021 through a conference video in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, September 28.

Reform and improvement in providing information to the public is a continuous and dynamic process in accordance with the development needs of government and society.

Especially with the development of information and digital technology today. The Vice President emphasized that all ministries, non-ministerial government agencies, and local governments are required to implement public information disclosure.

"There is no longer any reason for public bodies to delay the implementation of public information disclosure obligations," said the Vice President.

The availability of technology and various application platforms, said the Vice President, can make public information accessible quickly and reach the wider community, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis that is changing people's lifestyles.

"In an effort to optimize the dissemination of better public information, especially during the current pandemic, the transformation and digitization of public information is an important key to support the disclosure of public information," he said.

With the openness of public information in all ministries/agencies and local governments, according to Ma'ruf Amin, the commitment to running a good and clean government can be realized.

"Therefore, the commitment to open public information must continue to be implemented as part of the institutional accountability of all public bodies to the people," said the Vice President.
