Between Kahar Muzakir Or Lodewijk Paulus, Two Names Of Candidates Who Will Enjoy Facilities Of DPR Deputy Speaker To Replace Azis Syamsuddin

JAKARTA - The Golkar Party's DPP held a plenary meeting to discuss the name of the replacement for Azis Syamsuddin as Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Monday, September 27, evening. The plenary meeting was held at 19.30 WIB at the Golkar Party DPP Office, Slipi, West Jakarta.

"Tonight will be a plenary meeting of the Golkar Party's DPP to decide on the candidate appointed by the general chairman Airlangga Hartarto," said Golkar Party DPP Legal Head Adies Kadir at the DPR Building, Monday, September 27.

The names of Azis Syamsuddin's replacements that have been strengthened are the Secretary General of the Golkar Party, Lodewijk F. Paulus and the head of the faction, Kahar Muzakir.

However, Adies acknowledged that the name of the candidate to replace Azis was one of the senior Golkar Party cadres who would be announced on Tuesday afternoon.

"Indeed, the most senior one this morning, I told you there was Mr. Lodewijk, there was Mr. Kahar Muzakir," said Adies.

In line with Adies, the Head of Legal Advocacy and Human Rights (Bakumham) of the Golkar Party, Supriansa, said that General Chairperson Airlangga Hartarto would announce the candidate for Deputy Speaker of the DPR, Tuesday afternoon.

"If it is finished this afternoon, then I don't think the Golkar party will linger (announce, red) the vacancy of Mr. Azis' position. At the latest, maybe tomorrow (Tuesday) the General Chairperson of the Golkar Party has proposed his name," Supriansa said in the building DPR, Monday, September 27.

The member of Commission III of the DPR emphasized that Airlangga would look for the best figure with various considerations in the Golkar Party faction in the DPR.

"The Golkar Party is an old party, a mature party, of course, it is very careful with the various points of view that the general chairman considers in order to appoint a replacement for Mr. Azis Syamsudin," Supriansa explained.

Alluding to the strengthening of the name of the Secretary General of Golkar Lodewijk F Paulus, Supriansa admitted that Airlangga had indeed become a concern. However, he was reluctant to say for sure that Lodewijk would be elected as chairman of the DPR.

"Yes, because it has many advantages. Other cadres also have approximately the same ability as the Secretary General," he said.

Besides Lodewijk, the names Adies Kadir and Kahar Muzakir also appeared. However, Supriansa is again reluctant to confirm the name that will come out as a replacement for Azis.

"There are many in the Golkar Party. Yes, I pray that who will be named in the decree of the Chairman of the Golkar Party, Mr. Airlangga, then that is the best from Golkar, the best for the nation and state," he said.

Of course, he said, the criteria for the new DPR leadership from Golkar are those who have the ability in the field occupied by Azis Syamsuddin as deputy chairman of the DPR for Political and Security Coordinator.

"I think the Secretary-General has the same position and the other Golkar figures are also in the same position, they have a position that is acceptable to all parties," Supriansa said.
