COVID-19 Update As Of September 22: 2,720 New Cases, Active Cases Under 50K

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 256,163 specimens were examined with the result that there were 2,720 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,198,678 people and 49,662 active cases", said Ministry of Health data, Wednesday, September 22.

Today's recovered cases increased by 5,356 cases, bringing the total to 4,008,062 recovered. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 149 people and a total of 140,954 people.

The province with the newest cases was in East Java with 295 cases and a total of 393,960 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 227 new cases with a total of 856,585 cases. West Java has 211 new cases and a total of 701,263 cases. Then, Central Java has 190 new cases and a total of 480,069 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to Central Sulawesi with an additional 833 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an increase of 427 recovered cases, North Sumatra with an additional 385 recovered cases and East Java with an additional 367 recovered cases.

There is one province that reported no new cases today, namely Maluku. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 37,100,816.

"Positive results per person examined or the positivity rate of people this week is 2.19 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 373,201 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 82,113,788 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination, 46,496,177 people received the second dose of vaccination, and 872,310 people with the third dose. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
