Internet Service Provider IndiHome Is Still Slow, DPRD, Online Entrepreneurs And Students In Ambon Are Seriously Disappointed: Blurred Image, Unclear Sound
JAKARTA - Ambon City Regional Representative Council (DPRD), Maluku asked TelkomGroup to immediately overcome internet disturbances because many community activities were hampered. Especially students who study and lecture online.
"This has disrupted all activities because the internet has become a basic need for workers, schools and other online businesses," said Deputy Chair II of the Ambon City DPRD, Rustam Latupono in Ambon, Antara, Tuesday, September 21.
Rustam asked TelkomGroup to immediately fix network problems and provide a detailed explanation to the public. Only the operator Telkomsel has an extensive network in Maluku and is used by the majority of people in Ambon.
"Try to replace the existing internet access, so that all can meet the interests of the community, both in terms of workers and schools," he said.
Deputy Chairman of Commission II DPRD Ambon City, Harry Putra Far Far, said that his party planned a meeting with Telkomsel and IndiHome to discuss internet network problems in Ambon City.
"Later, Commission II will summon Telkomsel and Indihome so that we can hear a clear explanation," he said.

He explained that in a pandemic like this, the most important thing is the education of children. However, the current network complicates their learning activities.
"Now we are still in a pandemic situation, children are still studying online. This is very burdensome, of course," he said.
Meanwhile, an online businessman, Rizana Idris, said he was very upset because he could not upload his selling photos into Instagram social media stories.
"I'm quite emotional, yes, because usually I sell smoothly, but this time (the internet) is very slow," he said.
He hopes that Telkomsel's internet network in Ambon City will soon return to normal. According to him, if this cannot be rectified as soon as possible, it will be detrimental to his business, which now relies on online ordering.
"Hopefully it will be fixed quickly. Because I am very nervous, afraid that I will not be able to sell as usual," he said.
Pattimura University student, Fadly Anwar, also admitted that he could not take lectures online smoothly. "We studied earlier, the picture is blurry, and the sound is also not clear," he said.
Fadly hopes that the network will soon be repaired for the benefit of their education.
"Don't let us not be able to study well. Finish it quickly," said the student majoring in law.
For the last three days the internet networks from TelkomGroup such as Telkomsel and Indihome have not been functioning properly.
Previously, there had been a disturbance in the JaSuKa submarine cable communication system (Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan) for the Batam - Pontianak section since September 19, 2021, which resulted in a decrease in the quality of TelkomGroup services, both fixed and mobile broadband in several parts of Indonesia.
