DKI Immediately Relocates Residents Affected By River Normalization To Pasar Rumput Flats
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, said that his party will relocate residents whose houses are affected by the normalization of the Ciliwung River soon to the Pasar Rumput Flats which were just inaugurated by President Joko Widodo.
"Relocation of residents is carried out as soon as possible. The list is already there", said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 20.
Riza said that currently the DKI Public Housing and Settlement Area Office and Perumda Pasar Jaya are regulating the mechanism for relocating residents.
"It is being prepared by the Housing Service by PD Pasar Jaya, it will be arranged soon", said Riza.
Previously, President Jokowi said the Pasar Rumput flats which had just been inaugurated could accommodate residents affected by the Ciliwung River normalization program. This was conveyed before the inauguration of the flats which were built in 2016 for IDR 970 billion.
"I'm also happy to hear that this flat will later be able to accommodate people from the Ciliwung Riverside who are affected by the river normalization program for flood management", Jokowi said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.
Jokowi hopes that the existence of these flats can ease the burden on the community, especially those related to the provision of comfortable and affordable housing.
In addition, Jokowi hopes that the flats can help facilitate productive community activities.
