JAKARTA - Chairman of the All-Indonesian Cinema Management Association (GPBSI) Djonny Syafruddin said cinemas in Jakarta would reopen on Thursday, September 16, 2021.
"On Thursday we will open all cinemas in Jakarta", Djonny told reporters, Wednesday, September 15.
Djonny admitted that initially the plan to open a cinema in Jakarta in the extension of Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) was carried out on September 14. However, it was delayed for 2 days.
The reason is that cinema managers must complete the trial requirements for opening cinemas in Jakarta in accordance with central government regulations, namely the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 42 of 2021 concerning Level 4, 3, and 2 PPKM COVID-19.
"Actually, it has been opened, but there are still problems that need to be clarified, the editorial understanding. Earlier, all day long the GPBSI people had unified the understanding of that understanding", he said.

Previously, the government decided to open cinema operations in the extension of PPKM in Java and Bali. However, cinemas are only opened in areas that apply Level 3 and 2 PPKM.
