Katingan PKK Distributes Basic Food Aid To Central Kalimantan Flood Public Kitchen

KASONGAN, KALTENG - Head of Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, Daurwaty Sakariyas handed over basic food assistance for flood victims' public kitchens in a number of villages in Tasik Payawan District. "Let's pray together that this flood disaster will soon pass, continue to obey the health protocols, take care of your health", said Daurwaty in Kasongan, Friday, September 10.

Each village visited was distributed basic food donations in the form of 50 kilograms of rice, 7 boxes of noodles, 2 boxes of sardines and 5 packs of cooking oil with the villages visited including Talian Kereng Village, Tumbang Liting, Tewang Kadamba, Luwuk Kiri, Luwuk Kanan, Tumbang Panggo, regional The Bahandang plot and the Pendahara area.

In the same place, the Regent Sakariyas said that the efforts that the government had made in post-flood handling, whether it was setting up refugee posts, public kitchens and a team from Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) had also gone to flood locations that could be reached by their fleet.

Sakariyas explained that the assistance that had been distributed to flood-affected communities apart from the Katingan Regency Government was also assistance from the Central Kalimantan Governor, Chief of Regional Police (Kapolda), Military Resort Command (Danrem), High Prosecutor (Kajati), and all parties and volunteers from and outside the Katingan Regency area.

"We as the district government would like to thank Governor Sugianto Sabran who has given his attention and assistance to the Katingan community. Likewise to other parties", he said.

He also expressed his gratitude to the officers of the National Armed Force (TNI), National Police (Polri), Civil Service Police (Satpol PP), BPBD, Social Service, Transportation, the health team, and other vertical agencies who were directly involved in the field who were tireless in helping the community.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Regent of Katingan Sunardi Litang while monitoring the flood post and public kitchen at the LPTQ Building, Jalan Soekarno-Hatta Kasongan appreciated the volunteers from the South Kalimantan Province who had been helping flood victims in their area.

"A few days ago we actually had several volunteer friends from the South Kalimantan Province, this is extraordinary because there are so many of them", he said.

Sunardi explained, apart from the South Kalimantan BPBD, several volunteer groups from several districts in South Kalimantan also came to help flood victims in Katingan.

For example, from Barabai, Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency (HST), then from Kandangan, South Hulu Sungai Regency (HSS), students who love nature in South Kalimantan. Including volunteers from Marabahan will also come to provide assistance to flood victims in Katingan.

"We, on behalf of the Katingan Regency Government, thank you very much for the contributions from our colleagues from South Kalimantan. We have nothing to say other than the motto, your reward is great in heaven, my friend", said Sunardi.

On Friday morning, the Humanitarian Team from Muhammadiyah South Kalimantan came again, equipped with a number of heavy transport fleets and two rubber boats complete with logistics to the flooded areas in Katingan Regency after being released by the Chairman of the Central Kalimantan PWM, Dr. H. Ahmad Syar'i.
