COVID-19 Update As Of September 9: New Cases 5,990, Active Cases 127,829

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 231,278 specimens were examined with the result that there were 5,990 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 4,153,355 and active cases are 127,829", according to data from the Ministry of Health, Thursday, September 9.

Today's recovered cases increased by 10,650 cases, bringing the total to 3,887,410 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 334 people and a total of 138,116 people.

The province with the newest cases was in Central Java with 534 cases and a total of 476,235 cases. Followed by West Java which has 517 new cases with a total of 697,104 cases. East Java has 508 new cases and a total of 389,217 cases. Then, North Sumatra has 431 new cases and a total of 100,744 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to North Sumatra with an additional 900 recovered cases. Followed by East Java with an increase of 848 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 712 recovered cases and Central Java with an additional 649 recovered cases.

No province has reported any new cases as of today. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 34,083,614.

"Positive results per number of people examined or the positivity rate of people this week was 6.97 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 180,998 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

To date, 70,322,560 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 40,362,820 people have received the second dose of vaccination.

While the third dose of vaccination was 746,268. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 208,265,720 people.
