Don't Know When The COVID-19 Pandemic Will End, Sukabumi Continues To Boost Tourism To Restore The Economy
JAKARTA - The tourism sector has become the mainstay of the Sukabumi Regency Government, West Java to accelerate the recovery of the regional economy in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which until now is not known when it will end.
"Sukabumi Regency has a lot of potential natural resources that can be used by the surrounding community to be used as natural tourism objects. Of course, this potential must be utilized as best as possible to boost the regional economy, especially residents during a pandemic like today", said Sukabumi Regent Marwan Hamami in Sukabumi, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, September 7.
According to him, the creativity of the community is very much needed in managing these natural resources and of course, the Sukabumi Regency Government will also assist in providing the infrastructure to facilitate access to transportation to the location.
His party believes, if the natural potential is extraordinary, both in terms of natural wealth and cultural arts, the tourism sector becomes a qualified potential, even Marwan is optimistic that Sukabumi Regency will become the mecca of minimal tourism in West Java.
Therefore, his party is currently continuing to boost the existing tourism potential because the development of the world of tourism in the second largest district on the islands of Java and Bali continues to show improvement.
"Although it must be admitted, since Indonesia was declared a COVID-19 pandemic, tourism has become one of the sectors that have fallen. However, now it has started to rise again and when the pandemic ends we believe that the tourism world in Sukabumi Regency will rise faster, even now it has many tourists from various regions come, but are limited according to health protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19", he added.
On the other hand, Marwan said that the tourism sector in Sukabumi Regency is also a concern of the central government, this is evidenced by the massive development of transportation access carried out by the center starting from the Bocimi Toll Road, the Sukabumi-Bogor double-track railway, Sukabumi Airport, ports and so on.
