2 Jayapura Police Officers Arrested For Receiving Methamphetamine, Apparently It Belongs To A Former Police Member With The Initials AS

WEST PAPUA - The Directorate of Drug Crime at the Papua Police arrested three drug dealers of methamphetamine. Ironically, two of the dealers were Police personnel who served at the Jayapura Police.

"It is true that three methamphetamine dealers were detained in two different locations," said the Director of Drugs at the Papua Police, Grand Commissioner Alfian, to Antara, Monday, September 6.

The arrests of the methamphetamine dealers began with reports of a package of methamphetamine from Makassar being sent through a delivery service in the Sentani area, Jayapura Regency.

From this information, last Saturday, September 4, members then conducted an investigation and arrested two members of the National Police who took a package containing methamphetamine.

"The two arrested members are S (36) and A (27) who are on duty at the Jayapura Police," said Alfian.

Alfian added, from their information, it was revealed that the illicit goods belonged to AS (39), a former member of the National Police.

AS was arrested in the Abepura area and currently, the three are being held at the Papua Police Headquarters Detention Center in Jayapura along with four packages of methamphetamine.

The three were subject to Article 114 and Article 112 of Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics and the threat of dismissal for both members.
