Indonesia Gets Another 1.2 Million Doses Of Pfizer Vaccine Today

JAKARTA - Indonesia has received nearly 1.2 million doses of the Pfizer brand of vaccine today. The vaccine arrived at Soekarno Hatta Airport in a special container.

"Today we received the arrival of nearly 1.2 million doses of vaccine from Pfizer in branded form. The exact number is approximately 1.195.740 doses of vaccine", said

Deputy Minister of Health Dante Saksono Harbuwono in a virtual press conference, Thursday, September 2.

With this arrival, Indonesia now has 2.7 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine. The target is that the government will receive around 54.6 doses of the Pfizer vaccine.

"With this arrival, we have around 220 million doses of vaccines, both ready-made vaccines and in bulk form or raw materials. I thank you for the support and cooperation of all parties that made us able to carry out this vaccine well", said Dante.

Furthermore, Dante said the government continues to accelerate vaccination. He explained, from January 13, the start of vaccination until July, or for 26 weeks, the government has vaccinated 50 million doses.

Meanwhile, vaccination of the next 50 million doses was achieved in just 7 weeks, from July 9 to August 31. From this increase in the vaccination rate, the government has increased the daily target for vaccination.

The injection rate has also been increased to 10 million per 10 days since August, with vaccine distribution of 15.2 million in the fourth week of August and 20.3 million in the fifth week of August.

"So, the acceleration of vaccination is in such a way. We are getting more and more experience to carry out this vaccination faster. So, we are targeting that in September we can reach 2.3 million doses of injections per day", said Dante.
