Claiming To Be A BIN Member And Owning A Gold Melting Business, The Prisoner In Ternate Are Successful In Deceiving Hundreds Of Millions Of Women
TERNATE - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ternate Police, North Maluku, conducted an investigation into a suspected fraud case by an inmate of the Ternate Detention Class II with the initials NT aka Nafarullah (45).
Ternate Police Chief, AKBP Aditya Laksimada, represented by Head of Public Relations Subdivision, Ipda Wahyuddin said that in his action NT claimed to be a member of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).
"The perpetrator, apart from being a prisoner, also deceived several residents as members of BIN and succeeded in defrauding RT aka Ita (40) hundreds of millions of rupiah. He admitted that he worked at the mining company Nusa Halmahera Minerals (NHM) as a co-pilot officer and had a gold smelting business", said Ipda Wahyuddin in Ternate, Antara, Wednesday, August 1.
He said that the reported person is currently still in prison status who is now in the Jambula Ternate Detention.
His party then followed up on the complaint, and investigators had coordinated with the Jambula Detention Center.
"We have coordinated with the Jambula Prison to summon Nafarullah for questioning", said Wahyuddin.

Wahyuddin added that Nafarullah was summoned in connection with the reported complaint. Shortly, investigators will take information from the reported person at the detention center.
"But before the investigator examines the reported person. The investigator first summons the reporter for questioning and other witnesses, it is scheduled for Thursday tomorrow the investigator will take information from the reporter. While the complaint is still under investigation", he said.
The perpetrator deceived the victim by claiming to be a member of BIN who served at PT.NHM. Seeing the promising job of the perpetrator, the victim did not hesitate to lend money in several transfers.
On July 9, 2021, the victim sent an amount of IDR 50,000,000 by transfer to the account number of the perpetrator's confidant with the initials MSA.
