President Jokowi Receives Credentials Of 4 Ambassadors Of Friendly Countries
JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo received credentials from four ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary (LBBP) of friendly countries.
In a press release received from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, the handover of the credentials was held in the Credential Room, Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 1.
The procession for the handover of credentials began with the playing of the national anthems of each friendly country after the ambassadors arrived at the Merdeka Palace.
The four ambassadors of friendly countries received by the President are:
1. Santiago Javier Chávez Pareja, Ambassador of the LBBP of the Republic of Ecuador to the Republic of Indonesia;
2. Nikki Penelope Williams PSM, Australian Commonwealth LBBP Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia;
3. Pádraig Francis, Ambassador of the Republic of Ireland LBBP to the Republic of Indonesia; and
4. Houssein Sidi Abdellah DEH, Ambassador of the LBBP of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the Republic of Indonesia.
Several health protocols were carried out in the process of handing over the credentials, such as maintaining distance, wearing masks, and interacting without physical contact.

The handover of the credentials marked the start of the ambassador's official assignment in Indonesia. All of these ambassadors will subsequently be domiciled in Indonesia (Jakarta).
After handing over the credentials to President Joko Widodo, the ambassadors and their respective companions said goodbye. The National Anthem of Indonesia Raya was also played on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion were Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Military Secretary of the President Marsda TNI M Tony Harjono, Commander of Paspampres Brigadier General Tri Budi Utomo, and Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs/KPN Ministry Overseas, Andy Rachmianto.
