Hasn't Received Cabinet Allotment After Joining Coalition, Jokowi Prompts PAN Chairman To Meet Again

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PAN DPP, Yandri Susanto, revealed that the Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Zulkifli Hasan had accepted President Joko Widodo's invitation, before being announced to join the government coalition on Wednesday, August 25.

"On the 23rd birthday of PAN on August 3, Mr. Zul did tell us, I was invited by the President on August 25," Yandri said in a virtual discussion on the polemic of 'Reading the Directions of the Government Coalition', Saturday, August 28.

Yandri said that at that time the general chairman did not expect the meeting to be attended by all the general chairmen and the secretary-general of the government coalition political parties.

"Not mentioning that it was with other General Chairmen. Mr. Zul knew it was merged when he got there," he said.

He admitted that Jokowi's invitation to PAN was an honor, especially talking about nationality and statehood. "So, yes, he is very concerned about nationality, and together for Mr. Zul, he is always ready," he explained.

However, after yesterday's meeting, Yandri has not confirmed whether PAN will become a coalition partner in the cabinet. He only talked about Jokowi's invitation to join the coalition.

"Not yet, but for us when we are invited, we can be invited to work together, we can work together and work together. And we thank you. So maybe the beginning is always together, that's our capital to get out of many problems," said this Deputy Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI.

However, Yandri added, President Jokowi scheduled a follow-up meeting with Zulkifli Hasan.

"So before going home Mr. Zul was whispered by Mr. Jokowi, 'Mr. Zul later we will meet again,'" Yandri said.
